Work With Us
Choir Chaperone
17 hours per week (term-time only)
Do you enjoy working with children and young people and helping them to thrive?
Bristol Cathedral is looking for a Choir Chaperone to support the children and young people who participate in Bristol Cathedral Choir. This rewarding role is central to ensuring that our young singers can flourish within a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.
Working closely with the Director of Music, clergy, vergers and school colleagues, you will accompany and supervise children and young people during rehearsals and services. You will provide practical support with day-to-day needs, maintain attendance records, support children’s wellbeing, and act as an important point of contact for parents and carers when required.
Safeguarding is at the heart of this role. As Choir Chaperone, you will play a key part in promoting a positive safeguarding culture and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person in our care.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with children or young people, excellent organisational skills, a calm and caring approach, and the confidence to build positive and appropriate relationships with young people. An interest in music, particularly choral music, would be an advantage but is not essential.
