What happens when the song has ended? When you are a hundred miles from the home you’re fighting for, what would you give to hear it again?
1916. 4 choristers travel to France amongst 55, 000 other Bristolian men. With England behind them and war ahead, little do they expect to find something of their own past crumbling in the fields and with it, maybe, a reason to stay.
On Saturday 19 September, for one day only, Bristol theatre company Hotel Echo will bring their acclaimed production of Wild Men inside the walls that inspired it – Bristol Cathedral.
Rewritten from a devised script , Wild Men is a tale celebrating the voices of a lost generation. Told using live performance and choral music, this is a story inspired by the Bristol Cathedral Choristers who gave their lives 1914-1918. Join us for this exciting collaboration between young Bristol actors and the Cathedral’s Choristers as we reimagine this story from our past. This production is in association with the Cathedral's WWI remembrance project We Have Our Lives.
There will be performances at 3pm and 7pm. Performances will last just over an hour.
