Explore Gaia: Our Home Planet

Step into a world of wonder as Gaia, a breathtaking 7-metre Earth artwork by renowned artist Luke Jerram, takes centre stage. This stunning installation, featuring detailed NASA imagery and illuminated from within, offers a unique opportunity to see our planet from an extraordinary perspective. Accompanied by an immersive soundscape composed by BAFTA award-winning composer Dan Jones, Gaia will be the highlight of our autumn programme.

There is no charge to visit the Cathedral and view Gaia during visiting hours.

Worship Under Gaia

The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and to join our friends from the whole Christian family in prayer and action for our common home. The season would usually end on the 4 October but we are extending it until 4 November to acknowledge the presence of Gaia in the Cathedral. Our Eucharists during this time will celebrate the Season of Creation with special prayers.
