Cathedral Closures

Please be aware that some areas of the Cathedral are not accessible due to development projects.

The Organ is under refurbishment but features a new organ exhibition to enjoy!

There is also no access to the Seafarers' Chapel or Cathedral Café at this time.

Getting Here

Bristol Cathedral is located in the centre of the city. The easiest way to get to the Cathedral is on foot or by public transport.

Train

The nearest train station is Bristol Temple Meads. Located a mile away, it takes roughly 25 minutes to walk to the Cathedral. The route is level and has footpaths throughout. Alternatively, the numbers 8 and 9 buses go from Temple Meads to outside the Cathedral. There is also a taxi rank directly outside the station.

Bus

There is an extensive bus network throughout Bristol, and most buses that serve the city centre stop within half a mile of the Cathedral.

Car

There is no public car park available at the Cathedral and we do not recommend driving here. If driving is essential, Bristol is accessible from both the M4 and M5 via the M32. Please be aware that Bristol Cathedral is located within the Bristol’s Clean Air Zone.

Parking Information

There is no public parking available at Bristol Cathedral. The nearest parking available is at Millennium Square and also on St George’s Road, behind the council buildings.

Public Car Parks

The nearest public car parks are:

Blue Badge Holders

Blue Badge holders can park on Deanery Road, approximately a 1-minute walk from the Cathedral. There is a private car park at the Cathedral for permitted use only. The bays are standard parking bays.

Blue Badge holders who would like to use the Cathedral car park are asked to contact the Cathedral in advance of their visit. Please email [email protected].

Bristol School Streets

If you have been given a parking permit or are a blue badge holder, please be aware that School Street is active around the Cathedral so please avoid arriving between 8.15am and 9am and between 2.45pm and 3.45pm.
