Bristol’s Grenfell Memorial Panel
Bristol Cathedral is honoured to display Bristol Star Stitchers’ contribution to the Grenfell Memorial Quilt, a moving tribute to all those affected by the Grenfell Tower disaster.
Bristol Star Stitchers have created a 12ft x 12ft panel honours the 72 people who died in the fire on 14 June 2017, as well as those who survived, were injured, or lost their homes. It forms part of a nationwide memorial project inspired by a call from relatives and friends of those affected, with around 90 panels created by groups across the UK ahead of the disaster’s tenth anniversary in 2027.
The Bristol panel is also a story of community. Made from recycled fabrics collected from charity shops and other sources, it brought together more than 30 people of all ages and levels of sewing experience. What began as small gatherings in people’s homes grew into a shared endeavour at the Vassall Community Hub in Fishponds, where friendships were formed and skills, stories and countless hours were shared.
At the heart of the panel are 72 embroidered stars, each bearing the name and age of a person who died. Families and loved ones are stitched close together, reflecting the lives, relationships and communities behind the headlines. Flowers and foliage symbolise hope and renewal, while the tower itself stands as a reminder that those affected must not be forgotten.
Visitors are warmly invited to spend time with this remarkable artwork, remember those who were lost, and reflect on the power of communities coming together in solidarity.

WOOFYT: Explore the Science of Music
Build, Play and Discover: The Science of the Organ
Featuring WOOFYT Ever wondered how an organ creates its powerful sound? Join us for a hands-on family experience exploring the science, technology and creativity behind one of the world’s most remarkable musical instruments. Through WOOFYT, the Wooden One-Octave Organ for Young Technologists, children and families can investigate how organ pipes work, discover the mechanics behind music, and experiment with sound for themselves. Designed for curious minds of all ages, this interactive activity combines music, engineering and discovery in a fun and accessible way. Alongside the workshop, families can also enjoy Crafty Cathedral, with free drop-in musical arts and crafts activities running throughout the morning. No booking is needed for the craft activities. Lunchtime Eucharist
Our Lunchtime Eucharist is a simple spoken service of Holy Communion using Common Worship. The congregation is invited to participate through the responses printed in the order of service.
Usually held in one of the Cathedral’s chapels, this peaceful service lasts around 30 minutes and offers an opportunity for prayer, reflection and worship in the middle of the day.

An Evening of Kate Bush
An Evening of Kate Bush – performed live by a full band, vocalists and string quartet in the ethereal surroundings of the UK’s most stunning Cathedrals and Minsters.
Let Me In are back with a brand new show, exploring the evocative music of Kate Bush, on a UK Cathedral tour in late 2026.
After three years of sell out productions, including An Evening of Radiohead and An Evening of Pink Floyd, Let Me In Presents are proud to announce a brand new show, featuring a 10 piece band, accompanied by the ever-present Mike Nowland String Quartet.
The show will move through Kate Bush’s music chronologically, starting with the groundbreaking debut album – The Kick Inside – and delving deep into classics such as Hounds of Love and Never For Ever, until we reach the maternal warmth of 2005’s multi-award winning comeback record – Aerial, touching on everything in between.
Expect the classics – Running Up That Hill (recently featured in Netflix’s Stranger Things), Cloudbusting, Wuthering Heights, but also some rarities and hidden gems, including The Ninth Wave suite, from Hounds of Love, in it’s entirety.
This is a deep exploration of Kate’s music, curated by avid fans of her music for avid fans of her music.
Your band for the evening will be fronted by the sensational Lydia Gardiner (An Evening of Radiohead & Pink Floyd), alongside Eleanor Kinsey, Amelia Harrison, Lucia Carmignani, Colleen Curran, Alfie Woods, Bruce Higgs, Daniel Anketell, Josh Semans & Musical Director – Ewan Steady.
The band will be accompanied by very special guests and nationally renowned string players – the Mike Nowland String Quartet.
