Cathedral community

Come and join us........

We want you to feel welcome to the Cathedral. There are plenty of ways to join in and explore your place in the community. We have a range of social activities that take place - the details are set out below.

Discussion groups

The Open Fellowship group provides people with an opportunity to explore their faith and discuss a range of themes and issues. All the sessions are held in the Cathedral cafe at 6pm. Contact Canon Nev Boundy if you would like more information.  The Forum group meets for lectio devina and discusses a range of topics and issues. They meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 pm in The Cathedral Cafe. Light refreshments are provided. The next dates are

Community meeting - We hold community meetings to let people know what is happening in the Cathedral and the progress on key projects.

Regular activities

Cathedral coffee - Each Sunday the main Eucharist service (Holy Communion) takes place at 10 am and we have tea, coffee and biscuit in the Chapter House afterwards. All are welcome, and if you are new to the building the Stewards at the service can tell you the way.

Community lunches - on the first Sunday of each month a community lunch is held in the Cathedral cafe. If you want to attend you need to sign up on the list that is available at Cathedral coffee (see above). There is a small charge for the lunch and the proceeds are given to Christian Aid and other charities. For more information contact Simon Cuthill.

Pastoral care

Part of our job is also to offer help and support to those who are going through a difficult time.  If you need to talk to someone we have clergy who can listen. If you have a pastoral emergency please ring 0117 926 4879 and chose the pastoral emergency option from the list, or e-mail.

Volunteering

One of the ways that people can become part of our everyday life is by volunteering at the Cathedral. To find out more click here.
