About the Artists:
Tomorrow’s Warrior Presents Kianja
An alumna of the Tomorrow’s Warriors development programme, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer was raised on a musical diet of soul, reggae, and jazz. Kianja has developed a reputation as a songwriter who channels her emotions through her music and writes honest songs that ‘go for the gut’. Couple this with her powerful live performances, and it is no wonder that she is firmly on the ‘one to watch list’ as a rapidly emerging, fascinating young artist.
JOW
“stately trumpet lines of lament & renewal soar gently above earthy cello sounds and together weave an English landscape” – Benny Dart, Music at the World Junction
JOW is a deliciously uncategorisable acoustic instrumental duo, comprising James Gow on cello and Pete Judge on trumpet. Their music, as featured on BBC Radio 6Music, blends jazz and improv with elements of folk and classical chamber music. Formed in 2021, the duo has quickly established a reputation for beautifully unusual music-making, alongside a growing series of unpredictable collaborations.
