Lunchtime Recital: Sarah Potjewijd

Sarah is a 21-year-old pianist originally from Bath, now in her final year of undergraduate study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, studying under Katharine Lam. Recent solo recitals have included Holy Trinity Stratford-on-Avon and Wolverhampton St Peter’s, along with performances at the Ulverston International Music Festival. 

Winner of the Delia Hall Accompanist Prize in December 2023, Sarah is a keen collaborative pianist, who has given recitals with other instrumentalists and singers all over the country, including London, Leeds, Leamington Spa and Shrewsbury. She is also a staff member at Elmhurst Ballet School, where she works as a ballet pianist and is an Instrumental Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation.

Sarah recently gave her concerto debut with the Willow Orchestra in London, where she performed the Delius Piano Concerto. She is looking forward to performing close to home today, to an audience with a few more familiar faces in it than usual!
