Join the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury in reflecting on themes and questions raised in the Hebrew Bible and their relevance for us. Learn how they throw light on the coming of Christ and our following of Christ today.
The Right Revd Dr Rowan Williams, the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury from 2002 to 2012, is an internationally recognised theologian, author of numerous books and a poet. He has served on several theological, ecumenical and educational commissions. Following his doctorate, on the theology of the leading 20th century Orthodox theologian, Vladimer Lossky, he taught at both Oxford and Cambridge. He was consecrated as Bishop of Monmouth in 1991 and as Archbishop of Wales in 1999. Following his retirement as Archbishop of Canterbury he continued to serve in the House of Lords as Baron Williams of Ostermouth and as Master of Magdelene College, Cambridge from 2013 until retirement and returning to Wales in 2020.
There will be three addresses during the day which will take place in the Chapter House. Following each address there will be a time of quiet and space for reflection and prayer. During these times, you are welcome to stay in the Chapter House or to use the Cathedral chapels and garden. Alternatively, there are plenty of spaces to walk in the surrounding area.
There will be a said Eucharist at 12.30 in the Eastern Lady Chapel.
