Delve into the History of the Cathedral organ

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the Bristol Cathedral organ is being restored and refurbished. Every part of the organ is being taken apart, cleaned, mended and rebuilt by expert organ builders Harrison & Harrison.

A brand new temporary exhibition is located around the scaffolding that surrounds the organ. Here you can discover how the instrument works, hear from Cathedral musicians and explore fascinating history, dating back to the 1600s.

There is no charge for this experience and it is available during visiting hours.
