JOW in The Chapter House

  • Fri July 4 @ 13:15
  • Bristol Cathedral  - College Green, Bristol

Join JOW, the acoustic duo of James Gow (cello) and Pete Judge (trumpet), for a daytime concert in the stunning 12th-century Chapterhouse. Their music—featured on BBC Radio 3 and 6Music—blends jazz, folk, and classical influences, creating a sound that is both intricate and expressive.

Following their performance beneath Luke Jerram’s “Gaia” in the main Cathedral last autumn, JOW return to explore the rich, natural acoustics of the Chapterhouse. The stone architecture enhances every note, allowing the interplay of cello and trumpet to fill the space with warmth and resonance.

🎵 “Stately trumpet lines of lament & renewal soar gently above earthy cello sounds and together weave an English landscape.” – Music at the World Junction

🎶 “Somehow doing so much with so little.” – Jazz Stroud

“No ego—just musicians playing organic music… The audience love them.” – Bristol 24/7
