Eucharist for Ash Wednesday

This service marks the start of Lent, a period of prayerful self examination and reflection as we prepare for the great festival of Easter. During this service ashes will be offered to all as a symbol of penitence. All are welcome to join us as we begin our journey towards Holy Week and Easter. Sung by the Cathedral Choir including Gregorio Allegri’s Miserere.

If you would like to observe Ash Wednesday but can’t make the evening service, there is a Lunchtime Eucharist at 12.30 with ashing.

There will also be Ashes to Go outside the cathedral at the following times:
8.30am – 10.00am

12.00pm – 1.30pm

3.30pm -5.00pm
