Climate Cafe: Share Your Climate Concerns

  • Fri October 25 @ 19:30 - 20:30
Event Series Event Series (See All)
  • Bristol Cathedral  - College Green, Bristol

Concerned about the Climate Crisis? Struggling to find a space to talk freely about it?

Come to this friendly, welcoming space, with two facilitators, where people who are concerned about the climate crisis can meet and share their thoughts and feelings about climate and related issues.

In this 90 minute group, held in a private space at the Cathedral, you’ll have the opportunity to share thoughts and feelings about the climate crisis. There are no guest speakers and no talks, and it is an advice-free zone. Whilst the climate and ecological crisis is usually the main focus of the café we realise that other related preoccupations need a space to be explored. This can happen here too.

This group is for everyone. Whether you are…

  • thinking about it following the heatwaves last summer
  • involved in climate work for a long time
  • worried for your children or grandchildren
  • simply a concerned citizen
  • thinking there is nothing you can do anyway

Facilitators

Starting in Bristol a decade ago the Climate Psychology Alliance is now a worldwide network of mental health professionals who bring their knowledge and skills to engage with the climate crisis.

Paul Hoggett, a practising psychotherapist, is the co-founder and first Chair of the Climate Psychology Alliance.

Paul will be joined by another experienced practitioner, TBA.

Accessibility

The Climate Cafe will be based inside the Chapter House. Level access to the Chapter House is available through the Cloister Entrance, located in the Cathedral Car Park. To find the Cloister Entrance from the Main Entrance turn left as you exit the Cathedral and follow the outside of the building to the back right corner of the car park. Ramps will be in place to allow level access into the Chapter House for the duration of the event. The floor outside of the Chapter House is uneven and visitors are advised to exercise caution when navigating the space.

The acoustics of the Chapter House may not be suitable for people who are d/Deaf, live with partial hearing, or have sensory conditions which are affected by echoes.

If you have any accessibility queries please email [email protected].

There two Climate Café events:
