Beloved Community: A Place at the Table for Everyone

  • Sat October 5 @ 09:00 - 17:00
  • Bristol Cathedral  - College Green, Bristol

Join us for a one day conference, dedicated to making church inclusive for everyone.

Following the success of a debut conference in March 2023, we are thrilled to announce an exciting line up of new speakers, bold topics, and workshops to Bristol Cathedral. This year’s event will be centred around racial inclusion, while also continuing to look at other groups who often face barriers between themselves and church. The day will be filled with a variety of engaging keynotes, panel discussions and workshops, as well as an opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist together and share experiences with fellow attendees.

Speakers and sessions will be announced soon!

The ticket price includes a delicious lunch cooked by the Square Food Foundation, a charity that works to reduce hunger, improve health, and bring people together through food and cooking.

Accessibility:

  • BSL and text to speech will be available for keynotes and some workshops
  • Large print copies of papers distributed on the day will be provided
  • Assistance dogs are welcome throughout Bristol Cathedral
  • A quiet space for people who need some time away from the talks will be available
  • A hearing loop will be available for those who need it
  • Limited blue badge parking is available on site available for blue badge holders (please get in touch when you book your tickets by emailing [email protected] and we will do our best to reserve a space for you).
  • Detailed access information is available via Bristol Cathedral’s website. Click here to find out more.
  • If you have any access requirements that aren’t covered here or would like to let us know what we can do to make this event more accessible to you, please do get in touch by emailing [email protected] or calling 0117 946 8180.

Values:

We believe that we are all God’s children, his beloved in Christ, and we seek to show that in our treatment of one another. For those reasons we will…

LISTEN

Listen with respect to the lived experience of others and be mindful of our own conscious and unconscious bias.

LEARN

Make space for difference and recognise that we will not always agree with one another and be careful with the language we use.

LOVE

Be courageous in advocating for one another and give space for the needs of each person to enable them to participate fully.
