New memorial to dedicated to John Isaac to be unveiled 

A new memorial dedicated to John Isaac is being unveiled at Bristol Cathedral next week. John Isaac was born into chattel slavery on a plantation owned by Thomas Daniel (1762-1854). There are numerous monuments to Thomas Daniel and his family in Bristol Cathedral but this new memorial is the first dedicated to the people they enslaved.

Bristol Cathedral will once again be transformed into a stunning canvas of light and sound this Christmas as the award-winning artistic collaboration, Luxmuralis, returns with their latest creation, In The Beginning. This captivating new installation is on display from Monday 25 – Friday 29 November and set to enchant audiences of all ages, reimagining the Nativity story through a dazzling display of light and sound, projected onto the Cathedral’s impressive architecture.
