Join New Bristol Sinfonia and the organists of Bristol Cathedral for a spectacular evening celebrating the power, drama and beauty of music for organ and orchestra.
Part of The Grand Organ Festival, this concert marks an exciting moment in the life of the Cathedral’s newly restored organ, bringing together musicians from across Bristol for a performance of some of the most inspiring works ever written for the instrument.
The evening opens with Widor’s much-loved Toccata, the final piece played on the organ before its restoration began. Audiences will then hear works by Bach, Elgar and Poulenc before the concert culminates in Saint-Saëns’ magnificent Symphony No. 3, often known simply as the “Organ Symphony”.
From moments of quiet reflection to thrilling orchestral grandeur, this programme showcases the remarkable partnership between organ and orchestra while celebrating the return of an instrument that has been at the heart of Cathedral life for generations.
Whether you’re a devoted classical music enthusiast or discovering organ music for the first time, you’ll find an evening of exceptional music in one of Bristol’s most inspiring spaces.
