Make Music Day

  • Sun 21 June | 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Bristol Cathedral  - College Green, Bristol

Celebrate Make Music Day 2026 at the Cathedral, in partnership with St George’s, with a joyful day of music-making in the heart of Bristol.

Families and children are invited to explore the Cathedral organ up close — discovering how it works, experimenting with sound, and experiencing the power and colour of this remarkable instrument. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities, you’ll encounter the organ not simply as an instrument, but as a vibrant voice at the centre of Cathedral worship and music-making. Free to attend and open to all, it’s a relaxed and inspiring day for anyone curious about music, creativity, and sound.

As part of this international celebration, musicians from across the UK and around the world will be joining in. Our Cathedral Choir will sing at the Sung Eucharist and at Choral Evensong, offering moments of beauty and reflection. Between services, Mark Lee, Organist and Master of the Choristers, will present a live organ demonstration, revealing the instrument’s history, craftsmanship, and extraordinary range of sound.

Later in the day, we are delighted to welcome the University of Arkansas Children’s Choir, celebrating music as a shared language that connects communities across continents.

Join us for a day of discovery, worship, and song.

No charge or booking required.
