Grand Iftar at Bristol Cathedral

- Bristol Cathedral - College Green, Bristol
Bristol Cathedral is pleased to partner with Muslims4Bristol and Bridges for Communities to host the Grand Iftar, a special interfaith community event. Now in its third year, this event welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds to come together to celebrate Belonging and Togetherness. The Grand Iftar is an opportunity to share stories, build friendships, and learn from one another in a welcoming environment.
What is Iftar?
Iftar is the meal that Muslims eat to break their fast at sunset during Ramadan. While Iftar holds a religious significance, this event is a community gathering not a religious service. It provides a chance for attendees to reflect, connect, and share across cultures and traditions.
Iftar prayers will take place outside the Cathedral in an adjacent facility.
Doors open at 5.00pm
The event is free, fully accessible and open to everyone. Due to restrictions in numbers, people must register for the event (maximum 6 tickets per person if booking through general admission), and tickets must be shown at the entrance to the event upon arrival.
About Muslims4Bristol
Muslims4Bristol is a social action group set up to promote active citizenship within Bristol’s Muslim community. It organises events and activities that connect the Muslim community with the wider city, and works to address what matters to our city. The group endeavours to engage Muslims to get involved at a neighbourhood level and to connect communities together through events and volunteering activities. The group aims to build community cohesion and bring diverse faith communities together.
About Bridges for Communities
Bridges for Communities is a Bristol-based charity that seeks to create kinder, fairer and more welcoming communities, by connecting people of different cultures and faiths. Through activities that bring people together around the shared languages of food, sport, art, music and language, and by connecting people who are seeking sanctuary in Bristol with their wider communities, Bridges seeks to promote social cohesion and make Bristol a place where people live well with difference.
