The Beloved Community: A Place at the Table for Everyone

Join us for a transformative one-day conference at Bristol Cathedral, dedicated to exploring Christian tradition, identity, and belonging.

Building on the success of our debut event in March 2023, we are thrilled to present an exciting line-up of new speakers, bold topics, and engaging workshops. This year’s event will delve into profound themes of ritual, ownership, and moving beyond inclusion.

Our aim is to create a space where participants can explore the meaning of belonging to a beloved community, for themselves and others. Together, we will celebrate the Eucharist, share a meal, and exchange experiences to enrich our journey together. Everyone has a role to play in shaping a more inclusive church, where joy, acceptance, and love are the cornerstones of our shared faith.

This event welcomes church leaders, congregation members, and anyone interested in exploring faith.

We have a fantastic selection of speakers including Dr Selina Stone, Bishop Mike Royal, Jo Dolby, Rev Molly Boot, Nic Jovčić-Sas and more.

A wellbeing zone will be available throughout the day with sofas, colouring, jigsaws and more, offering a chance to get creative, fidget or relax while still being able to participate in the conference. Quiet spaces will also be available. The ticket price also includes a delicious lunch cooked by the Square Food Foundation, a charity that works to reduce hunger, improve health, and bring people together through food and cooking.

Values:

We believe that we are all God’s children, his beloved in Christ, and we seek to show that in our treatment of one another. For those reasons we will…

LISTEN

Listen with respect to the lived experience of others and be mindful of our own conscious and unconscious bias.

LEARN

Make space for difference and recognise that we will not always agree with one another and be careful with the language we use.

LOVE

Be courageous in advocating for one another and give space for the needs of each person to enable them to participate fully.
