“The Cathedral is big and amazing!” – Year 6 pupil

Whether religion and worldviews, local history, or art, we can tailor your visit to your needs and the national curriculum. Our most popular visits include Bristol Cathedral as a Place of Worship, All God’s Children (connections to the transatlantic slave trade) and Christian Beliefs in Action. We also offer visits linked to events and exhibitions happening at the time.

School Visits

We offer a range of engaging school visits that support and enhance curriculum learning. From guided tours to gargoyle making, each experience is hands-on and can be tailored for groups from early years to sixth form.

We recommend visits of up to 60 children but can discuss additional numbers. Visits are costed on a per child basis and vary on the activities chosen.  The Cathedral has facilities to have lunch during the visit.

Booking is essential whether you’re coming for a workshop, self-guided visit or a fun activity day.  Please make an online enquiry and we will get back to you.

The nearest coach drop off point is on Deanery Road, outside the central library.

All of our staff and Education volunteers are DBS checked and have completed safeguarding training.

Education Volunteers

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy working with young people and want to make a difference.

Bristol Cathedral has a range of opportunities for volunteering with young people; from running workshops or guided tours, helping with our Sunday School, making resources and supporting our school visits.

Find out more about becoming an education volunteer and to see other volunteering roles available.

Families

Join us for Crafty Cathedral where you can make and create crafts. This takes place most days during the holidays. There is no advance booking or charge to take part.

We also have a Sensory discovery trail. This is for anyone and everyone but, especially for young people and families who want to experience the Cathedral using their sense. Pick up a free activity leaflet anytime during your visit.

Education Days

Join us for us for one of our fun education days.

Whether for moving on day, Christmas or an Easter trail, these special days encourage children to work alongside their peers and enjoy the Cathedral. Enquire to find out more.
