Compline: The Gift of the Body

This year, Canon Neil Patterson will lead us in Compline, drawing on the writings of Rachel Mann, including her theological reflections and poetry. Through her words, we will explore what it means to meet God as we are and as we are called to be.

Holy Week is the pivot point of the world: out of conspiracy, betrayal, denial, and death comes the redemption of all things. Our attention is centred on the body of one person—Jesus—and on the people who surround him, both friends and enemies. Through theology, poetry, and reflection, we will consider how, in our richly diverse human bodies, we can locate our lives within the Body of Christ, who offers himself for a troubled world.

Music will be sung by the Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars, including Tallis’ Lamentations of Jeremiah on Wednesday 16 April.
