Part of The Grand Organ Festival, this concert marks an exciting moment in the life of the Cathedral’s newly restored organ, bringing together musicians from across Bristol for a performance of some of the most inspiring works ever written for the instrument. The evening opens with Widor’s much-loved Toccata, the final piece played on the organ before its restoration began. Audiences will then hear works by Bach, Elgar and Poulenc before the concert culminates in Saint-Saëns’ magnificent Symphony No. 3, often known simply as the “Organ Symphony”.
