Update: From 4th July 2016, Colston Street will be permanently closed. The MetroBus project is carrying out major works in Bristol city centre to improve traffic flow and reduce through traffic and congestion. As part of these works, the route between Colston Street and the city centre will be permanently closed to general traffic from 4 July 2016. Buses and taxis will still be able to access the centre from Colston Street. General traffic heading from Colston Street towards the city centre will now have to travel via Pipe Lane and Frogmore Street. Following the closure, work will begin on constructing an improved pedestrian space and new segregated cycle lane between the city centre and Colston Street.

Public parking is available at Millennium Square and on St George's Street, behind the council buildings.
