Candlemas: 25th & 26th January 2017
This KS2 event celebrates the Feast of Candlemas, when Christians remember Jesus being presented in the Temple (Luke 2:22-38). Candlemas celebrates Light and all the symbolism this carries. Children participate in workshops based around the theme of light, such as making decorated candle-holders, singing songs about light and taking part in the exciting Explorer Dome light show.
Price: £5 per pupil.
Senior Schools' Art Exhibition: 9th - 21st February 2017
The annual Senior Schools' Art Exhibition shall be on display in the Cathedral from 9th - 21st February 2017. This is kindly supported by the Bristol Savages who also judge the artworks. Prizes are awarded to the best pieces and prize-giving is held in the Cathedral on 21st February at 6.15pm.
Please contact us if your school would like to be part of this fantastic display. Display boards are available for loan. All are welcome and entry is by £10 donation.
God and the Big Bang: 6th Form Conference: 23rd February 2017 http://gatbb.co.uk/
Our exciting 6th form (and higher ability KS4) conference will explore the compatibility of science and faith.
The day aims to equip young people with the tools they need in order to form their own opinions and engage in rational, exciting, well-reasoned and thought-provoking discussion about the place for science in God’s world. This event consists of:
- a keynote talk by a prominent member of the science-faith community;
- a practical science demonstration session;
- interactive sessions;
- a question and answer panel session.
Price: £9 per pupil; includes a FREE network lunch for accompanying staff.
Moving On (Transition days): 7th, 8th, 13th & 14th June 2017
Our Moving On days are for Year 6 pupils, to celebrate their Primary School years and to think about the hopes and fears posed by the transition to Secondary School.
The 2016 theme was 'What matters to us?' - workshops will focus on team building, working with others and values such as respect and friendship.
We will be taking bookings for 2017 from Christmas time onwards.

Dying, Death and Beyond: Religious Studies Symposium: 22nd June 2016, 9.10 - 2.30

The Big Draw: 5th & 6th October 2016 - PLACES REMAINING!
During October, Bristol Cathedral joins in with the national Big Draw initiative and welcomes schools to come for a day of fun and varied artistic activities inspired by our beautiful building. We hold KS1 and KS2 days so the activities are designed for the age of the children.
Previous workshops have included: Stained Glass Painting, Illuminating letters, creating clay 'ugly mugs', and designing a Rose Window Mural.
Our 2016 dates are:
- KS1: Wednesday 5th October 2016
- KS2: Thursday 6th October 2016

Christmas Through the Keyhole: 6th - 8th December 2016
Learn the Christmas story as we take you on a journey around the cathedral, recreating the journey made by Mary and Joseph.
