Bristol Film Festival returns to Bristol Cathedral for a screening of the 1925 classic Phantom of the Opera on Saturday 16 March, with live organ accompaniment by David Bednall.
This silent horror classic from 1925 sees Lon Chaney star as the titular Phantom, a disfigured recluse who lives beneath the Paris Opera House. Enamoured of an aspiring young opera singer, Christine, the Phantom causes murder and mayhem in his efforts to make her a star.
Award-winning organist David Bednall will accompany the film with an improvised score, in this unforgettable evening that blends silent cinema with live music, bringing this extraordinary film to life like never before.
