Bristol Choral Society, under the baton of Hilary Campbell, will be joined again by the Bristol Ensemble for this beautiful, spiritual and moving concert.
Starting with Stravinsky's wartime sonata for two pianos, played with our resident pianist Steven Kings, the concert then moves on to profound spirituality of a different order as glittering woodwind, brass, two pianos and harp queue up to refract the laser-sharp light of Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms. The concert finishes with the ever popular Faure's Requiem, which sustains an abiding solace - in Faure's own words, a 'lullaby of death' and an aspiration to happiness.
