Nave Altar

The point where the transepts meet  the end of the Victorian nave and the beginning of the medieval hall church is known as the 'crossing'.   The Cathedral's main service of the Eucharist (or Holy Communion) takes place in the crossing on a Sunday using a special altar, designed and built by Luke Hughes to mark the Millennium.  This is the heart of the Cathedral and of our Christian worship.
