Welcome to new Education Officer

This week, we welcome Gemma Dececio as our new Education Officer, who will be providing maternity cover for Frances Taylor.

Gemma will be helping to coordinate our exciting and varied education program, which welcomes thousands of pupils from across the city every year, as well as events for families and children. Find out more about the work of the education team.

"After graduating with a degree in Food and Nutrition at Sheffield Hallam University, I completed a PGCE at UWE. From there I enjoyed working as a Food Technology teacher in South Gloucestershire for 6 years. After the birth of my daughter I worked in a local college supporting students with their academic needs. This was a really fulfilling role, working on a one to one basis with the learners to help them achieve their potential.  I am now looking forward to my new venture as Education officer and working with a wonderful network of Volunteers to support the educational experience of students when visiting the Cathedral. I am excited to be involved in Cathedral life and participating in the various events that take place. I feel very privileged to have such a wonderful opportunity and to be part of the lively atmosphere of the Cathedral."
