Cathedral welcomes five new Canons

On Sunday 20 September, Bristol Cathedral welcomed 5 new Canons to the Cathedral community

Derek Chedzey is the Head of Ministry Development for the Diocese of Bristol and is also a member of the Bishop’s Staff team. Derek will serve as the Diocesan Canon to the Cathedral, meaning that he will also have a seat on the Cathedral Chapter 

Julie Bradley is Associate Minister at St Michael's Bristol where her responsibilites include oversight of pastoral care, marriage ministry and the Pre-School and Nursery.

Sue Farrance is a licensed Lay Minister, based at Christ the Servant, Stockton. Sue is also the secretary to the Bristol South deanery synod and a local Fire Brigade Chaplain.

Mat Ineson has recently been appointed as Vicar at St Mary Magdalene Church in Stoke Bishop, having previously served as priest-in-charge of St Matthew's Church in Kingsdown. Before moving to Bristol, Mat worked as a chaplain at the Lee Abbey Christian Community in Devon.

Rod Symmons is Vicar at Redland Parish Church and a former tutor at Trinity College. Rod also looks after the Bristol City Deanery.
