A Message from the Acting Dean

The Cathedral is closed, but our prayer, life and work goes on.

We have followed the advice from the Archbishops on 24 March and the Cathedral is now closed. We are really sorry to have to do this, but by being closed, we can play our fullest part in breaking the chain of infection across our nation and the world and save lives. In this way we can keep both those who would otherwise visit and worship in the Cathedral, as well as our wonderful staff, as a safe as they possibly can be.

The life of the Cathedral is not limited by the building. Our much-appreciated live streaming of services is continuing (thank you for your encouraging comments). We can’t stream from the Cathedral at the moment, but from Monday to Saturday at 9.30am and 3.30pm we will stream Morning and Evening Prayer from the homes of the Cathedral clergy. On Sunday there will be a service at 10.00am. Do please join in on our Facebook page, on YouTube and on Twitter.

We are also trying to keep in touch with our regular congregation members.

We continue to pray for all in the front line, and for those who are ill and impacted in so many ways by this pandemic.
