What's On

Tackling Homelessness

In March 2016, it was reported that there were more rough sleepers in Bristol than anywhere else in the country, outside London. 5,600 households in Bristol were either threatened or became homeless. During Bristol Homelessness Awareness Week, we invite you to join us for an opportunity to hear about the work of two of Bristol’s leading homelessness charities, with practical training provided by St Mungo’s aimed at helping us meet and talk with people living on the streets. Hosted by Bristol Cathedral Social Justice group.

Speakers: Jessica Hodge (Emmaus) and David Ingerslev (St Mungo's)

This event is now sold out.

Bristol Cathedral Social Justice group meet is open to all and has an emphasis is on building community, learning and doing. We meet c.5 times a year after the Sunday Eucharist, 12-1pm in the Old Library, sometimes with outside speakers. In 2017, we are focusing on homelessness, including supporting a Winter Night Shelter, but other areas of interest, such as welcoming refugees, green issues, inter-faith relationships are also explored.
