Join us at 10.30am on 1 April as we gather to hear Mark's gospel being read through in it's entirety. Stefan Smart will recite the gospel in a way which promises to be thought provoking and reflective as we approach our celebrations of Easter.
Watch Stefan recite passages from Acts on BBC's Songs of Praise in 2015
The Gospel of Mark has been read aloud in the Cathedral in the approach to Easter for the past 6 years. Previously many readers have taken part in preparations concerning both Voice and Text. In 2017 there will be two on offer: Saturday 4th March in the Old Library, starting at 10.30 am and ending at 3.15 pm, looking at two fairly recent challenging and informative commentaries: Binding the Strong Man in Mark and (a provocative title) The Existential Jesus. Those who’d like to attend part or all are invited to let Canon Neville Boundy know: email@example.com or 07502225506.
in 2016, Stefan recited the gospel in parks and churches across England. He will be talking about his experiences with The Presentations so far and will take part in a Q&A session at Open Fellowship on Tuesday 14 March, 6pm. All are welcome.
