Archaeological Reports

The following documents have been prepared by the Cathedral archaeologist, Kevin Blockley of Cambrian Archaeological Projects. They are in PDF format:

During 2015 we have been replacing the boilers in the boiler room that the Cathedral shared with Bristol Cathedral Choir School.  As part of this we have had to dig a trench between the Pates boiler room and the Deanery boiler room.  This required a watching brief, as it is a site of interest.  The report can be downloaded.

During 2014 we completed repairs to the floors in the Chapter House and the Eastern Lady Chapel where there had been slippage.  The floors were opened up and archaeological investigations commenced.  The reports below set out the results from the investigations.

In 1992 an archaeological survey was taken on the west end of the Cathedral, the former site of Minster House, to inform plans for future building work. The report will be published in 2017.
