Advent is a time of expectation: the word itself means 'coming'. It recalls ancient Israel's hope for the advent of the Messiah, and also expresses the Christian hope for the fulfillment of God's Kingdom in the second coming of Christ.

Christmas Opening Hours
The Cathedral will be open 10am-4pm between Christmas and New Year. The Cathedral Cafe will be open 21-22 and 28-30 December serving hot and cold drinks and cakes. The Cathedral Offices and Shop will be closed from 4pm on the 23, reopening on the 3 January.
If you want to hear more about our stories join us for a free guided tour on Saturdays at 11.30 am and 1.30 pm. Occasionally we have other events happening, so if you are coming specially ring 0117 9264879 to check availability.
Please note there are no storage facilities for holding baggage whilst visiting the Cathedral. You must keep your personal belongings with you at all times. We reserve the right to carry out random searches if appropriate.
